Terms of use
Last updated 1 October 2026.
Plain terms for a free tool in beta. By using Q you agree to them.
Q is free, and in beta
Q is provided free of charge by Dark Olive CIC. It is in beta: it works, and it is still changing. Features may change or be withdrawn, and the test site (inqbeta.dev) may be reset at any time.
Your records are yours
What you make in Q belongs to you. We do not hold a copy and cannot read it. That also means we cannot recover it for you: keep your passkey, your recovery card and your backups safe. If they are all lost, so is access to what they protect.
Use it fairly
- Do not use Q to break the law, to harm or deceive anyone, or to hold material you have no right to.
- Do not try to disrupt the service or get at other people's information.
- Found a weakness? Please report it privately.
No warranty
Q is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for loss arising from its use, except where the law does not allow that to be excluded — nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Open source
Q's code is open source; the licences set out what you may do with it. The names inQbeta, Q and Dark Olive are not included in those licences.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above will change when we do. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
